Lensman |

Lensman's name is based on key characters in a series of 1930s science-fiction books. Lensmen are a cadre of special galactic police who are incorruptable and who have minds of incredible power. They are selected by an advanced telepathic species, the Arisians, who give to each of them a "lens" which allows them to sense the thoughts and emotions of others. Lensman, the horse, is a quarter horse gelding, born on March 27, 2000, trained for reining. I purchased him on March 26th, 2008 from his original owners, just in time for his birthday. His registered AQHA name is "The Nimble Yankee", based on his sire line Barr Yankee and dam line Jac Be Nimble. His telepathic powers are well developed (smile), as he seems to be able to respond to almost everything I ask, no matter how subtle the signal. And that's exactly what I wanted in a horse.
It's occasionally fun to fantasize about what horses would look like if they were people. One day, while watching "Into the West" I found Lensman's human avatar.
The intense, sharp planed face, thin-lined mouth, the superb physique - it was a surprising resemblance for me. Hopefully Mr. McClarnon won't mind. |
