I have worked for years to produce the images, stories, and research which is published here. I hope you will enjoy it all, and respect my property rights. Do not copy or download or reuse material from this site without contacting Mark Cashman.
All of the graphics are JPEG for high quality color on 8 or 24 bit displays. Image file sizes have been kept small to minimize the time it takes to load them, but your performance will depend on the number of images, the speed of your connection and whether the images are already in your browser's cache.
This site has been designed for easy and safe wandering.
Just use the sidebar to the right to walk the top level categories of the site.
The name link in the copyright notice at the bottom right of every page will take you to a page with information about the author...
With one exception, The Temporal Doorway does not use frames. This is because it is impossible for you to bookmark your favorite pages if they are in frames.
And if someone else has used frames to wrap around the Temporal Doorway, you can always escape them with the "Unframe" button on the right side of the heading bar.
The one exception is the Search facility, where frames are used to make it possible to navigate out of a search. This is needed because the search facility is actually hosted by Google.com, not here at The Temporal Doorway.
This site contains a large amount of text and has been designed to be easy on your eyes, regardless of your font settings, monitor, or resolution. However, if you have problems with the appearance of text on this site, you may wish to set your browser properties to use fonts which work better for you. On the Microsoft Windows system where this site was developed (at a resolution 1024 x 768), the variable width font is set to Times New Roman, size 11 (large fonts) or 14 (small fonts), and the fixed width font to Courier New, size 11 or 14. Please note that this site is browser-friendly - it does not override your settings for text fonts or link colors, and will respond if you change your browser preferences.
In addition, every effort has been made to accomodate browser sizes from 640x480 and up, and various browser types (tested with Netscape 2, 4 and IE 4 and 5). Some advanced HTML features and some JavaScript have been used, but in a way that should not interfere with older browsers. In Netscape 2, for instance, the popup menu will appear at the bottom of each page as a table; also, there are no background colors in any of the tables, which means that the greyish text on a black background will not show as well as it does in a later browser.
If you are using AOL, I strongly recommend you turn off the default "image compression" setting for your AOL browser (menu entry Tools | Internet Options) so you can enjoy the graphics here at The Temporal Doorway.
Every attempt has been made to make this site able to accomodate browser readers for the vision impaired. If you are vision impaired and you have any suggestions for improvements, please let me know.

Author, an excellent Microsoft Word add-in. Since that time, the site
has developed to include nearly 900 web pages, 2000+ files, 12,000+ internal
links,
1,200+ external links and several databases. Therefore, I now use Macromedia's Dreamweaver
MX and Fireworks Studio for the development and maintenance of The Temporal
Doorway.
