Terrain TipsHave a look at the new section on Terrain tips... Short TipsHow to convert a master group back to a regular group...Once you have promoted a group to master, it seems impossible to change your mind. There is no menu entry to demote from master. However, it is not impossible to restore the group to conventional status. In the Assemble room, click on an instance of the group. Edit | Jump In. Now you are editing the group for the instance. From the sequencer tray at the bottom, select all of the elements of the group. Pick copy. Use the Jump Out button at the top right of the Assembly window. Paste into the sequencer tray. Regroup the items. Delete the original master group instance. Repeat for all of the instances. Proper Transparency MappingCarrara uses an unusual strategy for transparency mapping. Don't just put the color in the color channel and the transparency map in the transparency channel - you must make the color channel a subtract operator, with the color map in one channel, and the transparency map in the other. The transparency map must also be in the transparency channel. Failing to do this leaves a thin white line around the color map. |
