White Mountains 2000: Ararthusa Falls

This was one of our longest days out, starting with the prospect of a short, relaxing hike to Arathusa Falls, supposedly one of the tallest waterfalls in the New Hampshire woods. In one account, it was claimed that the height was 200 feet. In reality, perhaps it was one hundred feet. But it was beautiful.

Once again, Sue was feeling up for a longer hike, and so we started out on the long way back - the Frankenstein Cliff trail.
